First I'm going to stay that I know that this is only one side of the story and I know that I get a little crazy about protecting animals but you really must see Blackfish. It is a documentary about Seaworld and the deaths that the orca Tillamook caused. I am most definitely not going to go to Seaworld. Wild animals are wild, that' it. You can watch this on netflix. It's well worth the time but be prepared for the array of emotions
I wanted to share with you the newest art project. I've been really fascinated with photography and of course collage. I decided to combine the two. This is the present I gave my sister for Christmas and honestly I am pretty pleased with the outcome. It was fun to experiment with the camera and I am excited to experiment some more. The photos below were some alternatives that I ended up not using for Cait's gift.
Aganetha Dyck is an incredibly talented artist. She has a deep love for bees and therefore has them participate with her in the creative process. These works of art below are part of "The MMasked Ball". She takes ordinary objects and then lets the bees take over. I find her work beautiful and mysterious but also slightly bit disturbing. I have a love affair now with her work. You can click on this link and watch a video on this link about her "Poem to the Bees". It's really beautiful.
This may shed light into why Channing Tatum and Bradley Cooper have been past People's Sexiest Ment and probably should be the current champs
I know this would be a more appropriate post around the 4th of July but when I came across these photographs on this tumblr I just could not resist. Can you imagine??
I've been collecting all these different photographs via Pinterest of various artists that I love in pretty classic cool photographs. I feel that each of these photographs capture the artist in a moment that I think reflects their art. Below is the photograph of the artist and an example of their work.
I'm here and this is Alexa Meade, she's pretty remarkable. The MET gala. The MET Gala. If there was a red carpet event that I would love to attend it would be the MET Gala. I mean it's really about fantasy and dressing up (I know Gwyneth Paltrow . The MET Gala fashion is really red carpet but with a cool, funky twist so the fashion has more edge to it. I personally would go for a more classic look but I guess when you are rich celebrity you can be funky because they get to dress up all the time. I have a few favorites... For me Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were best dressed of the night.
Congratulations to Michelle for winning Project Runway Season 11. I have loved Michelle from the beginning and I could not be happier for her. Seriously, it's awesome. Her runway show was an absolute show stopper and for me she was the clear winner (Heidi seemed to be more on Patricia's side even though Patricia's collection was not cohesive and looked cheap. She went for artistry (which you know I can respect) but honestly, her collection was artistic enough to support some of her styling. She used crazy Dr. Suess wigs out horse hair and the clothing just didn't match that outrageousness, so anyways needless to say I was really happy that Michelle won). Michelle was inspired by being "a lone wolf" and I think she was definitely inspired. She was the most underestimated designer regardless of her consistency and talent (unlike some people who slid by several times on the coattails of her team). I've decided that I want to be the girl that she designs for. She blended high fashion with commercial and it was a perfect blend.
I love Sara Bareilles and she came out with a new single today! It's amazing and so the Sara that I love from her second album. Check out her website and her thoughts about the song
